I've been wanting to say for months, but not until I was confident enough.
In a few months, ~Kajika and I are going to be doing ( or should that be 'attempting' ) the Southern Upland Way to raise funds for my work. It's 212 miles (341km) and stretches from the west to the east coast of Scotland. It also goes through the highest village :3
We'll be leaving on 17th June and it can take a few weeks to complete. It'll take me a bit longer since I'm not the greatest of hikers, but it's all for a good cause.
Yeah, so it explains all the walking I've been doing lately and why I went to Portpatrick last week. I need to get my compass/map skills perfected which I'll be doing especially on Arran.
I'm going to die D:
If anyone is wishing to sponsor me or make a donation, let me know either in a comment or a PM and I'll give you the details.

I'm not sure if I can join you on the walk for the full thing though, because mum is going away to london in the second part of june to look after Melissa, so I've got to be around to look after the cats. If I can rope someone into cat-sitting then I'm TOTALLY there dude!

No offense dude, but I'm not really wanting company on the walk. This is Funk and I's holiday since there's little chance we can get away otherwise and I really need the peace right now.
I *would* love to do it with all you guys but at another point in time depending on everyones financial/uni situation etc <3

I wouldn't worry about learning to use a compass though, unless you're wandering off the path. It should all be well signposted and on good tracks. Even I'm not too familiar with using a compass since it's only really necessary when in fog/cloud (though I am good with a compass when it comes to measuring bedding planes of rock formations
Yeah it was really just incase there was cloud cover which apparently there is around Wanlockhead. Hopefully since it's summer that won't be a bother
